The German Salt Museum, built in the early 90s, or also called the Saline Lüneburg Industrial Monument, nowadays stands on the site of the old production facilities of the Lüneburg Saline after its closure in Lüneburg. The museum presents the history of the Lüneburg Salt Works as the oldest and once the largest industrial plant in Central Europe. In addition to part of the boiling house, a converted donkey stable is also used as a museum.
